Prayer requests for May 10
Let us be joined together, even while apart, by being in prayer.
I spent some good time with Bob and Marion outside, socially distanced. Keep Bob in prayer as he is beginning treatments for his bladder, with a good prognosis. It was wonderful to see Loay and Kimberly, who joined us (they live right down the street)! Keep Kimberly in prayer; she is coordinating nurses at Baystate, so is serving us all. Loay is looking for a new job, and contemplating career directions. May God help him discern a call that makes the most of his many gifts!
Cynthia Scully, our Moderator, tested negative for covid-19, but remains in quarantine all alone; let us be with her in spirit.
Diane Percy is returning to work on May 18; we pray her return is safe and enriching.
Tasondra asks for prayers for everyone who is separated from a mom today; that may be because of quarantine, or because some have lost their mother. May we all be renewed in our love and appreciation for our mothers, wherever they are.
Jenni and Tasondra ask for prayers for Xylena’s grandmother, Rosa Torres, who is positive for covid-19. She is doing well so far, but has to be isolated of course.
Let us pray for courage and assurance for Hilary (Piquette) Sawicki and Michael Sawicki. Hilary is Deb and Marty’s daughter. They are front-line EMTs worried about bringing the virus home to their baby and other relatives.
Please pray for our church leaders and for me as we listen and discern as best as we are able to possibilities God is creating to be church in this time. We ask God to make it possible for Church Council to meet under the restrictions and exercise the charge that the congregation has placed on us.
We close our prayers, and unite them all, with the Lord’s prayer, as Jesus taught us.
