Worship Inside on Sunday, November 22
Continued caution is our sacred duty as we enter into the holiday season. We will worship indoors as safely as possible: masks are expected unless there is a medical exception, windows will be cracked at the beginning and then opened for the final hymn, when you can sing. With windows only cracked at the beginning, we want to minimize the socializing that we love so much. So we encourage everyone to gather outside to begin, and enjoy the choir singing songs of gathering before we all head inside at 10:30.
Sunday is our traditional Stewardship Sunday, and it will look the part, thanks to Elizabeth Johnson providing the traditional cornucopia. But we will begin to collect pledge cards next week. Look for more information in our upcoming Spire.
And next week will be our traditional (but of course different this year) Hanging of the Greens service. You can bring your pledge cards to that service, and think of it as an early Christmas present to the church! Again, we are concerned about a spike in covid-19 cases after Thanksgiving, and so this service will be shortened, simplified, and involve no congregational singing during the service. But we will gather around the front of the church afterward for some festive caroling!
Advent will be a time for you (and your family) to sing your favorite Christmas or Advent carol for our opening hymn. We need your gift of music, sung with love if not musical perfection!
Blessings as we gather online and in person tomorrow!
