Rev. Sherry S. Tucker

Sherry Tucker has been pastor of the Church of Christ, UCC, Granby since 2008.

She writes, “This is a warm and welcoming place to be.  I love this church and their enthusiasm for sharing the love of Jesus.  People are accepting of others and open to new ideas. I hope anyone who walks through the doors of our church feels like this is a place where they can worship, and know they belong.”

Prior to serving the Church of Christ, Sherry was Protestant Chaplain at Mount Holyoke College as part of a multi-faith department, Interim Dean of Religious Life, and also served as pastor in Buckland, MA.  Ministry is Sherry’s second career, as she was an English instructor at the community college level, and an elementary school teacher. Her love of stories and connection with children often are reflected in Sunday worship.

Sherry earned her B.A. at New College, a Master of Arts in Teaching at Mount Holyoke College, and Master of Divinity at Andover Newton Theological School. She was ordained in 2004.

She and her husband, Ken, who is a Professor of Sociology at MHC, moved to Western Massachusetts in 1990.   They have 3 adult children, Kelly Monod and her family;  Bryan and family; and Mike, a graduate student at Georgetown. Hobbies include tennis and travel, and Sherry is a beginning piano student.
